Newmarket Book Fair & a Town Crier

Despite Mother Nature being in a sour mood on May 25th morning, Gloria Ferris, Cheryl Cowtan, and I had a blast participating in this very well organized event by the Writers' Community of York Region (WCYR). My reading of book 1, in my crime thriller series, "Targeted" was moved to the hallway due to a torrential downpour. Kudos to M.J. Moores for making this last minute arrangement.

The event Town Crier was entertaining and helpful by announcing author readings and ringing bells to announce door prize draws.

Enjoyed visiting with and seeing displays from the other 40+ Canadian authors.  Cheryl R. Cowtan (pictured below) sits at her vendor table. Cheryl is an award winning educator who writes a dark psychological fantasy series that combines horror with fantasy and historical events and an Epic Fantasy series. Her writing style is reminiscent of Diana Gabaldon's, rich in detail and understated emotion, and very fast paced.

Gloria and I have another road trip notch for our book events' travel belt after our May 24-25 visit to lovely #.Newmarket. Author, Cheryl R. Cowtan joined us for this event and the day before for shopping and pampering at Balsam Spa.  After all, an authors got to do whatever works to prepare for public appearances. We had delightful meals at The Pickle Barrel and The Crow's Nest during our stay.
